Pine Needles Quilt & Sew is oh SEW excited to introduce you to BERNINA Educator and quilter extraordinaire, Lane Hunter!
Lane will begin with our morning workshop on sit-down
Q-series longarm machines. You will gain hands-on experience quilting with some free-motion techniques as well - ruler work, stippling fill techniques, echo quilting and more.
The afternoon session will be focused on the frame Q Series Models and Q-Matic. Techniques that you learned in the morning can also be done on the frame models.
This day-long workshop will provide you with all the information plus test drives on many models to see if this is something you want to explore further. You will gain confidence in quilting while discovering first-hand what makes quilting on a BERNINA Q-Series machine so special for professional results.
We have scheduled these workshops during BERNINA's National Quilting Month ~ so you can count on some great promotions and Pine Needles Perks as well!

MORNING SESSION - SIT DOWN/STAND UP LONGARM QUILTING WITH ADJUSTABLE TABLES - ALL OPTIONS WILL BE REPRESENTED DURING THIS SESSION
A great way to start the day. You will gain hands-on experience weather beginner or advanced with Bernina Longarm quilting. You’ll learn free-motion techniques, Rulerwork, Echo Quilting and more. Gain confidence in quilting while discovering first-hand what makes quilting on a BERNINA Q Series machine so special.

AFTERNOON SESSION - BERNINA Q SERIES FRAME MODELS AND Q-MATIC
You will discover just how easy quilting can be with the BERNINA Q-matic. Learn how to quilt your quilts quickly with the edge to edge quilting. Then explore custom quilting for squares, triangles, borders and more. Even when your squares are not perfectly square, Q-matic makes it a cinch to quilt to fit.
TECHNIQUES COVERED
• Quilting a “not so square” square
• Perfectly filling a triangle, square or hexagon
• Quilting borders and sashing
• Edge to Edge Quilting
Registration fees include class kits, supplies and a catered lunch. Morning session will be one person per long arm, in the afternoon there will be 2 per machine on frame models.
Lane Hunter from Portland, Oregon began sewing in middle school when his volleyball team desperately needed shorts. Since then he has created much of his personal apparel and many costumes for the professional stage. He is a practiced quilter, upholsterer and fiber artist. If you can get a needle through it, Lane is gonna make something out of it. Lane is also a seasoned educator on numerous topics. For the past 6 years he has taught hundreds of new BERNINA owners the ins and outs of their machines. His specialty is the BERNINA Q Series Longarm and loves to explore beyond quilting with them. He is most excited when he sees his students finishing their quilts from beginning to binding on these amazing machines.
