Join us for a full day of software design and hands-on stitching! In this comprehensive class, we will create a beautiful, Scandinavian-inspired folk-art heart—perfect as a standalone pillow centerpiece or as a repeating quilt block.
In the morning software session (using BERNINA Embroidery Software V9), we will use a mix of auto-digitizing and manual digitizing to bring our simplified Nordic heart to life. You’ll learn how to master the built-in Appliqué tools to generate placement, tack-down, and cover stitches with ease. Then, we’ll uncover a massive time-saver: converting those appliqué shapes into Cutwork lines! This brilliant technique allows your embroidery machine to cut out your fabric pieces for you in one go, dramatically speeding up your workflow if you are making multiple quilt blocks.
In the afternoon, we will move to our machines to stitch out our freshly digitized designs, utilizing our cutwork files for perfectly shaped, fray-free appliqué pieces. Don’t have the Cutwork tool? No problem, we will cover traditional appliqué techniques as well!
Supply list is below and a 20% is available for any necessary supplies after you have registered for class.
No prior embroidery experience required, though basic knowledge of machine operation is helpful. Don't forget to bring your enthusiasm!

This class is open to students with BERNINA’s V9 Creator or DesignerPlus software.
Remember to bring your laptop with the software fully installed. Test ALL software functions, not just opening the program. Don't forget your mouse, mouse pad, and computer power cord.
Action Required: You must open and fully test your software at home before arriving to class. This is critical because software support will not be available in the classroom, and there is no time in class to install or update the software.
Any technical difficulties with software installation or functionality need to be resolved in advance.
Taking the time now to verify everything works properly will save you frustration later and help us dive straight into the exciting curriculum we have planned.
