Learn fundamental techniques beginning with nine patch blocks and squares basic quilt construction.  Key basics include using a rotary cutter and ruler, making a consistent 1/4 inch seam allowance, proper pressing techniques and adding borders to build your confidence before taking on more complex designs.

Join Terri as she walks you through this beginner project from Doug Leko's Quilt Basics book. 

Included in your registration is your choice of fabrics from throughout the shop (please make arrangements to stop in the shop BEFORE class begins to choose your fabrics) a spool of thread and the use of a NEW Bernina 480 in our classroom!

(FYI - the book also includes a more advanced quilt to learn about other block construction to make a sampler style quilt - this follow up or stand alone beginner class will be offered in the fall)

Registration includes 2 classes, book, your choice of fabrics, a spool of thread and lunch both class days.

Fabrics included:
Focal fabric includes blocks and outer border 2 1/3 yard
Accent fabric 3/4 yard
Contrast fabric 5/8 yard
Inner border fabric 3/8 yard
(binding and backing not included)

Straight ruler at least 12”x3-4” (can be larger)
Rotary Cutter with new/sharp blade
General sewing supplies, such as pins, clips, scissors
