I am a planner.
I get an adrenaline rush when all my ducks are in a row or a long time well executed plan comes to fruition,
I am an eternal optimist. I always plan for the best and a win-win for everyone.
I have lived long enough, however, to know that things rarely end up exactly as planned, if ever, I know things fall apart at the seams, but still I persevere to make it so.
I love a good challenge. Tell me I cannot and I will show you that I can. When things go way off track I take it on head first, push up my shirtsleeves and get to work.
I love the feeling of accomplishment when we work our way through adversity. When we land on our feet. Most of the time a bit battered and disheveled but standing strong nonetheless. The original plan A may have transitioned and I might be at plan X before it is done. But, by gosh or by golly, things get done.
I am a dreamer.
I have always had a clear vision of what I would like the future to look like. I have been told a time or two that I have my head in the clouds. Perhaps so. I do know that the vision must be flexible, that it continuously needs to bend and change with time and circumstances, but the core vision always remains in tact.
BUT THIS....
These last days and the days upcoming have me and just about everyone feeling out of control in every direction with no real plan.
The vision is cloudy at best.
It is so so serious, it is life and death.
it is oh so frightening.
The questions never end.
All of us at the shop are keeping a keen eye on all the announcements and suggestions given us and we are complying with all of them.
We are taking it one day at a time.
We are planning...
Planning to do our best to navigate our way through this.
Like most of you during trying times like these we need respite. Those of us that work at PNQS along with all of you reading this can find reprieve, our special comfort zone, that feel good place right at home firmly seated in front of our best sewing/embroidery machine. The hum of the motors, the rhythm of placing the pieces under the needle, being creative bring about a calmness that no one except another quilter/sewist would understand. We can cocoon in our own privacy, we can create our own temporary bubble shielding us from the outside. We can and we must.
We know that many of our peeps are staying home, we also do not know if there will be a time when we need to reduce shop hours or close for a time to do our part to keep all of this at bay.
We are a community. We all share the burden of these confusing days. We cannot begin to express our gratitude for each and every one of you in our extended PineCone family. We love seeing those of you that are well and stop in for supplies, fabrics and machines. We miss seeing so many of you that are laying low for a time.
We are going to continue reach out to our "Peeps family" over these next weeks with some opportunities for some fun virtual shopping, tips and funnies throughout the days to keep you in the loop with us and us in the loop with you.
Stay safe and healthy dear Peeps.
Stay tuned for happenings in the shop via Facebook, Instagram and our weekly emails.
We love you all!
