May 17, 2021 classes...

We thought we would NEVER get into the new shop.  For those of you that do not know the saga, our initial plans were for and expansion spring of 2020....and then COVID.

March 15 was opening day in the new space and while it has been 2 months it feels like 2 weeks.  We are still putting on the finishing touches - we need to find a proper way to display the cuddle backing fabrics and I still have one box of "junk" sitting on the floor of my new office left over from the old office to sort through.

You all have been so kind and wonderful.  We love you all bunches and are so appreciative of all your visits and purchases in the shop, our aim it to keep getting better and better for YOU!

At times things seem to work out the way they should even though that was not the plan from the beginning...

Our lovely classroom is ready to go with plenty of room, state of the art sound and visual equipment and yet not classes.  We decided hesitantly that we would wait for September hoping that we would be able to shed the masks.

Well, it is a very good thing because we have so many happenings that we really, really needed extra room.

Jena, Kendra and Marcia (me) are getting ready to be the host shop and Bernina dealer at the upcoming Quiltworx University at Madeline Island the second week of June.  That means we are kitting ALL of the kits for the attendees, having a working shop at the venue and keeping the quilters well stocked with whatever they need plus the smooth running Berninas.  It takes massive amounts of fabric so the classroom has all of the bolts lined up and Judy and Judel are coming to the shop today and tomorrow to help us get the kits cut packaged and ready to go.  We are also taking 28 Berina 475 Quilters Edition machine new in boxes for the attendees to use - these will be available for sale at a super low price after we get back too, so you might want to get your name on one of these beauties!

Jena will be driving the truck with trailer to Madeline and will maneuver it on the ferry to set up on the island.  A new adventure for her, Kendra and myself!  We will take lots of pictures and will even be doing a FB live from there so we are kind of taking you along with us!

During that same time Joy and Alyssa (Joy's daughter and her girl Friday) will be hosting the Virtual Minnesota Quilt Show Bernina USA booth.  Oh my, she has been working hard, she will have a plethora of information and demos for you to watch live or view the recordings.  And the specials she and Bernina have compiled for the show are amazing.  THIS is your summer for sure to get a new Bernina if you have been longing for one.  You can read more about this in upcoming weekly newsletters too.

That pretty much sums up June in the classroom.   Hmmmmm.....I wonder what July will bring?

Happy Stitching

Oh, golly. I had such big plans.

We've dabbled in a little sewing teaching with my kids, but never really progressed beyond letting them push the pedal while I "drove" and the like.
