Due North Pattern
Every year in Minnesota we watch for the flocks of migrating birds to come back, one of the first true signs of spring after what can be a long winter. The flocks of geese come in noisy waves, winging their way Due North. This quilt takes inspiration from their northward journey, indicating spring will soon be here.
This pattern is written for three quilt sizes, a baby size consisting of 16 blocks, finishing at 48" square, a throw size consisting of 30 blocks, finishing at 60" x 72", and a bed size quilt consisting of 42 blocks, finishing at 72" x 84". Blocks are 12" x 12" finished.
This pattern is for the confident beginner and lends itself really well to a scrap buster pattern. It is also fat quarter friendly. Using pre-cut 2½" fabric rolls is also a great way to change the block colors to mix and match for a unique and fun design.
