Edge to Edge Quilting in the Hoop Thursday, September 26th 10am

Want to learn to quilt your quilts in the hoop?  This is the class for you.

With the advent of the new larger hoops this is even more popular but, you can, of course, use any size hoop!

Joy will be your guide as you practice the easy connect techniques in class. She will show you how to make your own hoop templates, get things lined up properly and stitch out the quilting.

Included in the class is the book and design CD with 10 different quilting designs. 

Fabric, thread and stabilizer will need to be purchased before class begins, supply list available.

Machine Embroidery Basics class must be completed and basic embroidery knowledge necessary to participate in this class.

Added bonus is that you will be able to make your “practice sample” into a very useful tote bag!

 

$75 includes the book, cd and class.

 

Please bring the following items to class - and don't forget to LABEL your equipment with your name:

  • 1 yard solid colored cotton or nearly solid for front
  • 1 yard of different/contrasting solid cotton or nearly solid for back
  • Thin quilt batting to fin between the front and back layers of fabric
  • Contrasting thread color to both the front and back fabric choices
  • Edge to Edge Quilting Book - included in your class fee
  • USB stick preloaded with File A and File B with the design of your choice
  • Topstitch needles, Size 90
  • Hydrostick Stabilizer for creating the template
  • Largest embroidery hoop for your machine
  • Clover 1/2" double-sided basting tape
  • Sharpie Marker
  • Thread snips
  • Bobbin loaded with top fabric matching thread color
  • Tweezers
  • 505 Spray
  •  

  • Sewing machine and accessories
  • Do not forget power cord and foot control
  • Quarter-inch foot
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Pin cushion
  • Seam ripper
  • Walking foot, if required

  • **All supplies available for purchase at the shop

     

    1. Create a quilt sandwich and use the 505 Temporary Adhesive Spray to adhere all the layers together prior to class.
    2. Load your bobbin with matching thread.
    3. Have your machine in good working order and bring your manual if you are not confident on threading or operating your machine.
